Need I remind you who the rulership claim appears to belong to when it comes to music coming from the Northern parts of Ghana? The Gadam Nation President, Fancy Gadam has gone from one win to the other. Maybe on another date, I would scrutinize the errors he’s painlessly made and continues to make on his chosen career path. No pun intended, my choice to write is informed by my perspective. However, I’ll extol his impressive recognition by way of nominations at the upcoming 3RD TV MVA’s.
Fancy Gadam who came to prominence in 2016, has continued in a streak of impressive gains, from winning awards, to having sold-out concerts, he doesn’t seem to be waning soon. When the nominees list for the 2019 edition of the 3RD TV MVA’s where mentioned on Zylofon Fm, I knew Fancy Gadam was definitely going to receive a nomination or two. however, the energetic performer cum prolific composer stunned everyone with six nominations for four of his recent music videos.
3b3y3 Yie which is doing well across the country was nominated in three categories of the award scheme, namely; Overall Best Video, Best Edited Video and Best Visual Effects Video. The song which has Fancy Gadam singing in Twi was directed by Yaw Scarface, one of Ghana’s finest Directors.
Another of his awesome releases from 2018 featuring Tema’s finest crooner, Mugeez of R2Bees fame titled Ma Baby received a nomination in the Best Choreography Video category. This video and nomination compliments his background as a dancer.
One of Fancy Gadam’s most loved collaborations has been Only You on which he featured Lynx Entertainment signee Kuami Eugene. Personally, it’s an awesome song because Kuami Eugene brought his A-game to compliment the amazing dancing-singer Fancy Gadam. In this particular video, Fancy Gadam and Kuami Eugene take turns to sing one another’s native language effortlessly. The video which was directed by Rex has a beautiful true-to-life story, thus, the nomination. It recieved a nomination in the Best Concept Video.
Biyara Gbani shot by Joe Gameli received a nomination in the Best Afro Pop Video Category.
If the Gadam Nation’s penchant for massive voting during awards is something to rely on, then Fancy Gadam is set to make another cruise to plaque-city.
3RD TV MVA’s 2019 will be held at the Snap Cinema in Accra on the 7th of December.
