He’s a village boy about to win

A post by Shutup Gh led to frantic efforts by many rappers in the Upper East Region to stir-up the existence of a beef, with many claiming to be beasts. In all of it, some referred to him as a village boy, others said he’s a village boy about to cause problems; but he said “I’m a village boy about to win”. Azkonna even offered to settle a score between him and another rapper; both declined. However, the last couple of days, there’s been songs, freestyles and videos depicting who a beast is. Shutup Gh maintained his composure and finally dropped the much-anticipated Beast via Ghana Music Live and atigsi.com.

What’s Beast About

Taking a form of the braggadocios aspect of rap and largely hip hop, Shutup Gh drops impeccable bars filled with penetrative punchlines which unfortunately are so stray any rapper could count themselves a victim. The fluidity with which he rides the song produced by Alien Beatz aka Marcel is like that of a Tyrese weaving the streets in a Fast & Furious movie. Call it a show-off, and you won’t be wrong. Shutup Gh definitely has something awesome and endearing in his art…switching between Hausa, Gurune, and English, the young man is just having fun on an ingenious production referring to himself as the Beast.

Smart Shutup Gh

Few weeks ago, the teacher trainee, Shutup Gh who doubles as a rap monster indicated on social media that he’s switching to a beast-mode. Many interpreted it to mean he was about to launch a beefing scene in the Bolgatanga rap world. I immediately reached out to the young Shutup Gh to ascertain the veracity of the rumors. Smart as he has always been, he talked about Beef and Battles; if you know rap, you’ll acknowledge the role of battles and the effect of beef. The latter connotes enmity, the former spurs artiste to be lyrically smart, and fluid in their flow.

Having known Shutup Gh from his Kinka days to the recent Halleluyah song; the young rapper who represents the Vea community in the Upper East Region has not reneged on his desire to be a major force in the music industry of Ghana. With this song, Shutup Gh his definitely here to stay for long. Shout outs to Soorebia & B-Wayne.
