On the global stage, Bolgatanga has once again inched closer to relevance in music. Ataman Nikita’s live rendition of his depth-laden masterpiece “Devil’s Game” has earned him a nomination in the Best Voice category at the Gramoframe Music Video Awards — a recognition organizers describe as honoring “the synthesis of sound, cinema, and culture.” He joins 20 vocalists from across the world vying for the award, which will be presented in California in August 2026.

Despite a relative silence in recent months, Nikita’s catalog has continued to work in the background. On September 26, 2025, he released his debut solo album Enigma under Isolirium Entertainment — a body of work that resonates with life, ambition, and the pursuit of greatness. It’s the kind of album you press play on, sing along to, and return to for re-energizing. Beneath the lyricism sits the voice that’s quietly defined it: philosophical, entertaining, and — as listeners have called it — impossible to skip.

Before going solo, Nikita was a constant, if uncredited, presence across Isolirium Entertainment’s catalog — the voice behind hooks, choruses, and features on productions long before fans knew his name. The decision to step forward with his own project had been building for a while.

In a digital space this cluttered, creativity doesn’t always get the attention it deserves. But for those paying attention, leaning into talent and using every available tool remains the surest path to sustained artistry—and Nikita’s trajectory suggests he understands that.

A Best Voice nomination now, on the back of a strong solo debut — it looks like Ataman Nikita might just be gearing up for more new projects and new accolades ahead.

About Ataman Nikita

Born Richard Azunre in Bolgatanga to a Russian mother and Gurune father, Ataman Nikita carries that duality into his sound — early years shaped by Russian folk and classical influences, later fused with R&B, hip-hop, Kologo, highlife, and hiplife after settling in Ghana. Away from music, he’s an ICT Administrator and lecturer at Bolgatanga Technical University. He’s also the brother of Dr. Pushkin, one of Isolirium Entertainment’s leading acts. This connection shaped years of behind-the-scenes collaboration before Nikita stepped into the spotlight on his own.

About “Enigma”

Released September 26, 2025, Enigma is Ataman Nikita’s debut solo album under Isolirium Entertainment — a body of work built around life, living, and the pursuit of greatness. It’s less a collection of songs than a mood for every situation, anchored by the voice that had already been shaping Isolirium’s sound for years, just without a name attached.

About Isolirium Entertainment

Isolirium Entertainment is the Bolgatanga-rooted label that has carried Northern Ghana’s sound onto global stages — from SXSW performances to the Kologo Fusion movement pairing the region’s traditional two-string guitar with contemporary genres. Home to Dr. Pushkin and Ataman Nikita, the label has built a reputation for socially conscious, genre-blending music that refuses to sit inside a single box.
