Fancy Gadam – Best Male Act
He is one artiste who has stayed relevant from a relatively obscure part of Ghana. Even though many artistes continue to make inroads in mainstream Ghana music, staying relevant has been challenging. However, the Total Cheat crooner continues to be the Star of the North in contemporary music; since the story of Fancy Gadam filling the Tamale Stadium broke out in 2016, he’s been on a winning streak.
Suffice to say, every award nomination he’s received has culminated in a win. It’s therefore not surprising that he won Best Male Act at the 2019 Ghana Entertainment Awards USA held in New York on Saturday, June 29, at the Schomburg Center.
Contending with Ghana music heavy weights like Kuami Eugene, King Promise, Kwesi Arthur, Samini, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Joey B, and Shatta Wale in same category, is no mean feat; let alone emerging winner. But the starboy has once again proven to be a gem in his hustle-zone.
The Ghana Entertainment Awards USA which is in its third year, is primarily setup to showcase the strides of creatives from Ghana doing creditably well. It also provides a platform for the promotion and celebration of Ghanaian talents.
