I am very opinionated, and I listen broadly, very few can be compared to Soorebia when it comes to talent, humility and the desire to win. Happiness is indeed from within.
Before Soorebia’s HAPPINESS
Soorebia was nominated in 3 Music’s Next Rated Category for 2020; his contenders weren’t mere contemporaries but acts who have proven to be worthy of a front-row seat in Ghana music. However, his nomination received mixed reactions from fans and the general music-loving populace of mainly the Upper East Region. Whilst others viewed it from a-good-step perspective, another set of people saw it as demeaning. Reasons being simple, Soorebia is bigger than the category. Whilst I cannot tell people how to view things, I can only provide a context for which his nomination could be viewed. Music is business, successful businesses must exude growth, being dominant in one’s comfort zone is alright; however, worth and wealth must transcend the comfort. We must chart a path to the HAPPINESS we desire.
Soorebia stood tall at the end of the day, winning against stiff competitors; Keeny Ice, WizChild, Imrana, Koo Kyei,Postaboy,Kwaku Smoke,Ypee, Nemesis Loso, & Wiz Maleek.
Finding Soorebia’s Happiness
Life is a plethora of choices, so acknowledging a disadvantage and taking an action, is you being proactive in your quest to succeed. Soorebia is a go-getting-enigma, and has earned himself relevance on the Upper East music scene as a rapper, wowed audiences in the Northern Region with creative and impressive rap flow, invaded his playmates in the Upper West Region with beautiful rhythmic music, and left the general Ghanaian music lover in awe. However, his dominance is yet to be sealed.
Just as ingenuity is not the preserve of people located in a particular part of Ghana, the fortunes generated from music shouldn’t also. This is where Soorebia’s team deserve some accolades; from Bolga to Tamale, Soorebia is known for his impressive skills on the microphone. Southwards, towards the economic power-house of Ghana’s music, he’s relatively unknown. Many advance arguments seeking to downplay the importance of successes that antecede a breakthrough in Accra. However, in a very polarized society such as ours, talking economics can be challenged by a people already suffering some form of a complex.
(I will find time to write about the successes of Fancy Gadam & Maccasio, with the above as context.)
You see, Nigeria probably has the biggest music industry in Africa, however, the likes of Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Simi, Burna Boy, Makoryun, Korede Bello, Mr. Eazi, and several others haven’t stayed simply contented with the fortunes available to them in Nigeria. They have found ways to chart courses to more financially lucrative music industries; the situation has made them some of the biggest and richest musicians in the world.
It is therefore commendable that a very talented artiste like Soorebia knows his worth, and wants to fully exploit it to the maximum. The exposure associated with this award, the new connections struck, and the Nasco 65 Curved TV is revealing of what one can achieve if they take opportunities.
Despite dabbling in music for some time now, his prominence dawned when he featured Upper East’s seductive songstress Ayillah on Primus. Arguably Soorebia’s biggest impression, Primus served as the basis for features with artistes like Wanluv, a lover of true art. One would have expected a sudden burst from Soorebia, however, the hurdles must always be overcome to become a big artiste in Ghana. It will therefore take more than a beautiful song and a collaboration with Wanluv to breakthrough. Remember, the Ghana music scene is not for the sleepy-faint-hearted, but those willing to put in work, funding and consistency.
Who is Soorebia
Soorebia is a young man who has chosen to find happiness unfettered by his geographical location. His ingenuity stems from pursuing an innate crave for mastership as a wordsmith; whose success hinges on amazing lyrics over feet-thumping beats. Considering a relatively low appreciation of Art and a relationship with formal education; Soorebia has left no stones unturned in ensuring he stands at par with ingenious artistes who can equally rival folk with academics. His relevance and dominance as an artiste in the Upper East cannot be understated.
The son of Soore obviously has a vision & a mission, this definitely must have influenced the choice to take whatever would push him a notch higher in his chosen career.
Next time you choose to attack a go-getter from an inferiority complex, know that
Martin Soore the son of Soore didn’t attend the university & explore his talent for nought. Yes, Soorebia is definitely made to shine.
