Nandom-born rapper Maaseg Dagaati has released “Standard”, a new single featuring Ziezaa. The song arrived on 17 October 2026, his birthday, keeping up his habit of dropping fresh music on the day he turns a year older. Production credit goes to Ziezaa Beat, the release comes through BluePrintz, and “Standard” is streaming now on Audiomack, Apple Music and other platforms.

“Standard” runs for 3 minutes 35 seconds and sits in the Afrobeats and Afro-fusion lane, filed under Afrosounds on Audiomack. The cover keeps things simple: two figures in wide-brimmed hats walking through a deep red haze, with the title set in bold gold letters and “Prod. by Ziezaa Beat” printed at the foot of the artwork.
In the release notes on Audiomack, the song is presented as a hustle anthem. Maaseg looks back on years of struggle and the climb towards a better life, while Ziezaa’s verse deals with going unnoticed, even at home, and rising above it. Inside its first two weeks the single has passed 2,000 plays on Audiomack.
Who Is Maaseg Dagaati?
Maaseg Dagaati, who also goes by Ed’Win, is a rapper and songwriter from Nandom in the Upper West Region who is now based in Kumasi. His stage name points straight back to his Dagaaba roots, and his music has long leaned on the struggle-to-success story that runs through “Standard”.
Atigsi first profiled Maaseg Dagaati in 2020, praising the honesty of his six-track Starvation EP and songs like “A Cedi & A Dream”. That EP has now appeared on Apple Music with a 28 October 2026 date, giving newer fans an easy way to go back to where it started.
The birthday drop is a pattern worth noting. His previous single, “Okay”, also landed on 17 October, in 2025. Before that came “Jakpa” featuring Dagau Okito in February 2025, plus “Mama” featuring Kwame Baah and “Flawa” in 2024. Earlier, he joined Best Gally, Kedef, Sypha and others on MBK’s posse cut “Tinangbaye (Waa)”.
