A Song About Faith and Patience

Produced by Blue Beatz, the track runs just under three minutes and sits between hip-hop and Afrobeat, with hard drums, deep bass and Northern rhythms under Maccasio’s sharp delivery. Its message is simple and personal: no one gets to decide another person’s destiny. Maccasio urges listeners to trust God’s timing over other people’s opinions, and to keep their faith through rejection and doubt.

That theme suits an artist who has spent more than a decade building a career from Tamale rather than Accra. Born Sherif Abdul Majeed, Maccasio has become one of Dagbon’s biggest musical exports, with hits including “Dagomba Girl” with Mugeez, “Too Big” with Shatta Wale and his signature “Anye Kan Laraa”. In 2025 he won Overall Artiste of the Year and Fanbase of the Year at the Ghana Northern Music Awards.

A Busy 2026 for Maccasio

“Man No Be God” follows the singles “Ninsala” and “Tomorrow”, and his feature on the remix of Fad Lan’s “Corner”. This month he also joined Fad Lan and R2Bees at their homecoming concert at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, where he performed their collaboration “Landlord”.

He returns to the same venue on Saturday, 7 November for The Return of Maccasio x Mr. P Live in Concert, with P-Square’s Peter Okoye as headline guest. Read why 7 November matters for Northern Ghana’s music.
