Wiyaala’s year with Slovenian industrial legends Laibach is not over yet. The band’s companion album, MUSICK : ENCORE, arrives on 20 November 2026 through Mute, and the Upper West singer features on three of its 13 tracks.

Wiyaala on MUSICK : ENCORE
MUSICK : ENCORE follows Laibach’s May album MUSICK with six new tracks and a set of remixes. Wiyaala appears on three of them:
- “Musick” (Unsick version), a new take on the album’s opening track
- “Allgorhythm” (Algorithm remix, assisted by iTurk)
- “Musick” (Balžalorsky remix), reworked by Laibach guitarist Vitja Balžalorsky
The CD and digital editions carry all 13 tracks, while the vinyl has a 10-track selection.
How Wiyaala Ended Up on a Laibach Record
According to Side-Line, Laibach first saw Wiyaala perform at an underground club in Ljubljana. In February the band chose “Allgorhythm”, featuring Wiyaala and co-produced by Richard X, as the lead single for MUSICK, their first album of original material since 2014. When the album landed on 1 May, she was on two of its ten tracks: the opener “Musick” and “Allgorhythm”.
Critics called MUSICK Laibach’s most pop record yet, a dance-heavy response to an age of AI and warped media. For a band known for decades of provocative industrial music, putting a voice from the Upper West at the front of that shift is a big statement.
From Funsi to the World
Born Noella Wiyaala Nwadei in Wa, Wiyaala grew up in Funsi and Tumu and sings in Sissala, Waala and English. Her stage name means “the doer” in Sissala. She won two All Africa Music Awards in 2014, made the BBC’s 100 Women list in 2024, and has spent more than a decade taking the sound of the Upper West to stages around the world.
Home has not forgotten her either. In May she was unveiled as Fugu Queen and Tourism Ambassador at a ceremony in Funsi, where Tourism Minister Abla Dzifa Gomashie praised her for championing the smock long before it became a social media trend.
