Lord Paper’s “Sister” Rosa Ree gets a 6 months’ performance-ban in Music.

0

One of Ghana’s finest composers and vocalists who has remained seemingly underground is Lord Paper. His ability to string awesome lyrics together is one thing we can’t doubt. Rising to visibility in 2018, the young and reserved singer employed a pornographic antic in his first release titled Ewurama. Unfortunately, this entry strategy didn’t go down well with many; to the extent that the video for Ewurama was taken down by Youtube. Rosa Ree and Lord Paper may not be blood relations, but their thoughts exude some family ties.

As if by a design to imitate or take-up inspiration from Lord Paper, Tenacious Tanzanian female rapper Rosa Ree released a song and video titled Vitamin U. However, she was handed a ban from performing for the next six months in November.

The Tanzanian arts industry regulatory body known as Baraza la Sanaa la Taifa (Basata) said the said piece of musical work by Rosa Ree which features her Kenyan-musician boyfriend Timmy Tdat contravened regulations. The authorities further said the music video to the song “went against the country’s morals”.

The ban/suspension doesn’t only apply in Tanzania; Rosa Ree will not be allowed to perform outside the country, she’s was also fined $870 according to a report by Tanzania’s The Citizen Newspaper. The acting Basata CEO Onesmo Kayanda, The Citizen reports, said the body found the rapper had made two mistakes:

We summoned Rosa Ree and granted her a hearing. The board found her with two mistakes other than sharing explicit content online. One, she never brought the project to Basata for review and two she did not enter into a contract with the international artiste she collaborated with as per the law.

In lieu of the ban, the original video uploaded to Youtube was taken down for obscene content and replaced with a cleaner version which features blurred scenes.

Lord Paper since the release of Ewurama has proven to have something many Ghanaian musicians can only dream. He’s gone ahead to brave the public ridicule as a result of Ewurama to release songs featuring S3fa, Coco Treyy, Freda Rhymz, Enam , Sister Deborah, Mr. Eazi, and Medikal. The quality of the releases continues to be the reason the young man is now being taken serious.

#TeamofHope reaches over 600 patients through free surgical operations

Team of Hope, a medical not-for-profit organization, based in Buluk, in the Upper East performed free surgical services for 105 patients in November, 2019. The lead member, Dr. Benjamin Akinkang, a national hero from the Buluk community has been organizing the benevolent act for the past four years. This latest instalment of the surgeries, one of many, adds to a total of more than 600 beneficiaries of the altruistic-driven surgical outreach.

The November operations (there was one done in the first quarter of 2019) spanned a period of one week; from the 25th of November to the 1st of December, 2019.

The 105 cases seen could be sub-grouped as:

Hernia repair –                        49

Hydrocelectomy –                  23

Excision (various kinds) –       24

Myomectomy –                       5

Hemorrhoidectomy –              4

The team arranged and brought together a great number of medical personnel ranging from medical officers, specialized nurses, surgeons and anesthetists.

The Buluk community, comprising the Builsa North and Builsa South districts, has an estimated population of over 100, 000 people. The Sandema Hospital is the main health facility which serves the people in the two Builsa districts.  It is not uncommon to have a high  number of people from some parts of the Northern Region popularly  called ‘overseas’ and Kassena Nankana District access the Sandema Hospital as well. This makes the hospital a critical service point with a tremendous amount of health load to bear.

Inauspiciously, the lack of a general surgeon in the district leaves most surgical cases unattended to and emergency cases referred to either Navrongo or Bolgatanga. However, surgical cases within the obstetrics and gynecology armamentarium do not pose the same challenge since the facility now has an obstetrics and gynecology specialist, in the name of Dr. Abraham Titigah, the medical superintendent of the Sandema Hospital.

Meanwhile, anecdotal reports and documented evidence show that the two districts have an astronomical numbers of surgical problems, especially hernias and hydroceles. The hospital has had enormous help from the Christian Mission Resource Foundation and APRIDEC Medical Outreach Group that have offered free surgeries over the past  decade,  but as it is, more hands would always be needed. Team of Hope, is therefore, strategically and uniquely placed to give more comfort, happiness and health to people suffering these surgical problems.

It is worthy to mention that the team’s ambition and effort – to bring surgical services free of charge to the doorsteps of people has not been smothered into oblivion as it won, and was crowned the winner of the recently held MTN heroes of change awards (Health Category): A clear epitomisation of the team’s impact on the local community and the country at large.

The team leader maintains that he is motivated and poised to continue to help people, especially those from the Builsa land because they are largely responsible for the man he has become today; he sees it as opportunity to give back to them.

Well-wishers, both foreign and local, have predictably demonstrated their support for the teams’ activities through different ways.

To cap this notes, the Team of Hope extends deep gratitude to all supporters, especially the Paramount Chief of Builsa land, Nab Azagsuk Azantilow, MTN Ghana, the MP for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak, the medical superintendent, entire staff of Sandema Hospital and all team members. May you continue to be awesome.

She’s popular for only one reason…Big breasts. The young lady who has been in the news for all sorts of reasons ranging from lieing about being a Wisconsin University Student, to having “brains in her Breast”, to releasing a sextape is currently a youtube star featuring in Kumawood skits.

Singer Efya’s Baby wahala

The Ghanaian singer with an angelic voice Efya appears to be dismayed at news of her having delivered a baby boy. A run-through a thread on her twitter timeline suggests she wasn’t happy about the news which appears to be untrue.

As usual, it is another time for a blogger to get blamed for not being accurate enough with a report or simply making news out of what others may describe as not being news worthy. Truth be told, when I came across the tweet, I almost wrote a story congratulating her. Unfortunately, I was betting on betway which took a little time. After going through the thread, I was actually happy some of her followers found a nice way to let her know it’s her fault when such inaccurate information is put out. The fact is that, she ignored queries pertaining to the true meaning of what she posted.

Bloggers are opinionated; thus, they are free to read meanings to anything they find interesting.

So please, our dear celebrities and superstars If you don’t want us to write our interpretations of your moves, make them explicit. That way we can be on the same page and maybe, be more complimentary in our write-ups. Sorry if we hurt you, we just write based on how much we know and want to share.

According to a story on www.ghbase.com, images of a baby boy posted on Efya’s twitter timeline suggests she’s just had a baby.

Considering the fact that several Ghanaian celebrities have always managed to keep their pregnancies hidden only to surprise the Ghanaian populace with news of giving birth. It is not surprising that such news would be prominent. In any case, the caption which is a question further proves why bloggers have to invent stories from anything they find appropriate.

There’s nothing wrong with porn star visiting – Ghana Tourism Authority boss

0

Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Tourism Authority, Akwasi Agyeman, says he sees nothing wrong with having a porn star visit the country for the ‘Year of Return’.

Speaking in an interview with Accra-based ABCNews he said as long as diasporans are law-abiding when granted visas to come to the country, he cannot pass moral judgements on anyone.

Bryon Long- Porn Star

His comments come after some Ghanaians raised questions about Byron Long showing interest in coming to Ghana as part of the Year of Return campaign.

“I don’t even know who the porn star is. I don’t know him but I have also seen the story that says somebody is coming who is a porn star.

“Is pornography legal where he is coming from? If it is and he comes to Ghana and visits the castle or visits a place, what is wrong with that?” the CEO quizzed.

Mr Agyeman stated that the main aim of his outfit at the moment was to liaise with the immigration and security offices to track activities of diasporans.

He said the process is to make sure with the influx of people into the country, the state knows the diasporans are not into any shady activities.

“Once we open up our country for tourism, all kinds of people will come in. Even the risk of people with dodgy characters, potential terrorists and all of them are going to look at Ghana as a destination.”

“That is why we are working closely with the immigration, national security and the police service to make sure that at least data is collected and we can track,” Mr Agyeman added.

Christians who play gospel songs during lovemaking hypocrites – Nacee

0

Ace music producer and sound engineer, Nana Sei, popularly known as Nacee has described Christians who do not play ‘secular’ songs during lovemaking as hypocrites, ABC News can report.

To him, lovemaking is part of the necessities of life and since Christians are humans, they should be able to play songs that put them in the mood during such moments.

According to Nacee who believes “gospel songs are for God”, he enjoys playing Highlife musician Kojo Antwi’s ‘Medofo Pa’ during lovemaking which puts him “in a romantic mood.”

“The Bible says that there’s time for everything so, at the time that you really want to bond with your partner, this is a very sexy moment. If immediately you are a spiritual person immediately you hear a gospel song during lovemaking, you will lose your fire. It should be romantic songs at that very moment”

“Christian songs are for God, the songs we use to praise God and also to encourage and inspire ourselves are for certain moments. That is why we are physical beings, when it comes to this body it needs a whole lot of things to move with. I normally play cool music from the olden days, we have mid-tempo love songs in the olden days, especially from Ghanaian musicians, one of the songs I can’t stop playing is Kojo Antwi’s “Medo fo pa”, it’s very beautiful so I think we shouldn’t be hypocrites, running away from that”, he said in an interview with Accra-based Hitz FM.
