“Even Good People have limits”…Dr Pushkin Attacks the Politicians Son in Bonsam Mc

0

Bonsam is the Twi name of the devil. So, when a rapper chooses to wear the persona of the devil by adopting Bonsam Mc, so much may be at play. I’ve listened to the #OutLandish album by Dr. Pushkin a couple of times; while it generally presents a tapestry of life’s coloring, some songs appear very personal. The lyrics below are from Bonsam MC to wit, devilish MC. Dr. Pushkin gives off some clues by painting a bizarre image of whoever the target is. I am not sure what could have stirred the hornet’s nest, but the demon in him has been unleashed.

Can I call Bonsam MC the start of some beef?

Well, I guess a reaction to the song by whoever will determine if two rappers are going to go ghetto in 2023. One thing is for sure: subliminal yet elaborate bars are thrown out there. It may make it easy for the target to acknowledge the hit and take a swipe back or play dumb by playing mute. Whichever way, Rap will win.

For a calm, laid-back, and nerdy rapper to want to go haywire, a lot may have transpired behind the scenes.

Who is the Bonsam Mc Going after?

Well, I have my guesses, but I want to hear from the “horses” mouth. However, since we all love the thrill of guesses, I will say this;

  1. The target is a politician’s son
  2.  The target has been around the Maths and Science Quiz ground for unknown reasons
  3.  The target has a persona different from what people who experience them know them to be.
  4.  The target is a Dada Ba Rapper (Lol)
  5.  The mark hasn’t manifested anything because nowhere cool
  6.  The target is not a God Mc

Need I say more?

For the past two years, Dr. Pushkin has worked hard as a musician and a producer on some of his songs. Despite having to manage a multi-faced life, the rapper has put in so much work culminating in this masterpiece of an album, Outlandish. This album is undoubtedly a precursor to the success that beckons in his life as a musician. Dr. Pushkin has scored many laurels as an academic, AI specialist, and author; it is only appropriate that another win in a different industry is added.

Below are portions of the lyrics from Bonsam MC.

“Even Good People have limits…

Round me

All I see is a degree of acceptable

Mainstream hypocrisy

And bureaucracy that they call

Democracy, they say I’m free

But its nothing but an aristocracy

Then why am I surprised that this

Demon spawn

A politician’s son

Will turn around and steal my songs

Running around the National

Science and Maths Quiz ground,

Trying to eclipse me? Here? Clown

You steal shit from me

Just cuz some nerd said that

You ain’t better than me

Punk you better not tempt me

I got it in me to end careers myriad…

Your Raiden looking ass can catch fatality

Your image contradiction

There’s nothing real – you’re fiction

Managed to fool everyone that you smart

With that Dada B diction

Yeah we’re all sick of you

Yeah you nowhere cool no more

Best Rapper? Got pissed on

Metaphorical teflon

I ain’t even flexing

Your catalog makes me yawn

And punk stop fronting

You manifest nothing

Nah you ain’t no God MC

If I’m a human you just a tiny flea”

“Outlandish Delivers a Feast of Music: Wait No More!”

0

Dr Pushkin started talking about the Outlandish Album in late 2022. He promised to deliver a musical experience which transcended genres. True to his words, the album has finally dropped and is in all music stores.

After listening to the Outlandish album, I can only express a sigh of relief about the power of music. While music is often tagged as entertainment, it has a reputation for being a conduit when expressing concern about society. Dr Pushkin aka Paul Azunre has curated this album with a lot of thought patterns.

Featuring several artists from varied backgrounds, the 17 Track Album offers a wide array of vocal and lyrical prowess. Mr All 4 Real known as Ofori Amponsah, Quata Budukusu now known as Budukusu, Teri Wiizi, Kwadjo Spiri, and Aggie, each brings their A-Game to this masterpiece of an Album. Other Musicians who blessed this Album with impeccable deliveries are Nikita Ataman, Jerry Kanjaga, Kinglung, Aphee, Muphasah, Kromanteng and Aza.

Outlandish is premised on socio-conscious lyrics, love, and unity of backgrounds. It also symbolises globalisation. So, artists and producers across continents and different ethnic backgrounds join forces to produce a sound that doesn’t only thrill but speaks to the soul.

Producers on the album are AzkonnaBeatz, Nikita Tolkachev, Paul Azunre (Dr Pushkin), Peweezel, Phredxter, 2Kings, Dj D. Abete, Diaz Qlasik, and IV. All the aforementioned brought the best of their skills as musicians to guarantee the best listening experience.

A sneak peek to the Outlandish Album before you Stream

Kicking off the album with Raphino, Dr Pushkin goes hard on a beat detailing the struggles to fit in and yet stand out. Delivering hard lines on a bouncing Hip Hop Beat produced by himself and Nikita Tolkachev, the rapper takes a storytelling route with this song. Relating the skill of survival to the skills of Rhobino the former Brazilian super footballer, the rapper talks about his dexterous approach to survival.

“Wake Up” featuring Kwadjo Spiri has both rappers kicking in conscious bars requesting the world to stay aware of what is, and what’s not. Taking turns, the rappers charge listeners to be vigilant by prioritising the need to truly live. In one line, Dr Pushkin says, “If you’ll not do it for you, do it for your children”.

Transitioning to an Afro-Pop song, Dr Pushkin recruits Isolirium’s Teri Wiizi on Lies. The song cites and cautions listeners against the very things that blind humanity in society. The ever-sultry Teri Wiizi compliments the thought-provoking words of Dr Pushkin by delivering interesting conscious lyrics sung in an RnB style over an infectious AfroPop beat.

There’s so much to enjoy on the Outlandish Album; however, I leave the streaming link below.

Forgive Them By Dr. Pushkin – The story of belief in self

0

Forgive Them by Dr. Pushkin features Aggie, a Texas-based American rapper. The song is more of a story an overcomer with a pure heart would chant. While being people, we often misunderstand ourselves to be God. But, when we acknowledge our beliefs by appreciating what we can and what we can’t do, in the sincerest of prayers, we would ask God to show mercy on all who have offended us. Expressing thoughts like the above in music, particularly rap, has always placed the genre at the front of activism.

Forgive Them By Dr Pushkin

Being different has always come with being unappreciated, unwanted, and sometimes outright hatred. However travailing it may seem, as we desire to break through in life, the results can be most fulfilling. Forgive them By Dr. Pushkin is an expression of how he overcame the stereotypes, bullying, and several human attitudes that could have tampered with his views on life. However, like the good adage, “make lemonade when lemons are thrown at you,” the rapper has gone on to win for himself in several spaces.

In all of the struggles, Dr. Pushkin, like most people, can know the very things people did, said, or wished for them. To avoid playing fake God, the Bonsam Mc rapper chose to offer a prayer for all naysayers.

As we grow and encounter the realities of life, we are faced with understanding detractors or paying back. But “Forgive Them” by Dr. Pushkin reminds us that we cannot waste energy on hate; we should win by chasing for us.

Once again, conscious rap scores a mark as music truly exudes a message for listeners.

The music video for Forgive Them By Dr. Pushkin was Directed and Edited by Directed & Edited by Daniel Castillo, one of the finest music video Directors in Texas. It featured Ghana’s own Budukusu in some scenes.

If you can’t forgive, ask God to Forgive Them. This song is from the Outlandish Album released on the 26th of January 2023.

What is SXSW Music Festival?

The Outlandish album is finally out, and already Dr. Pushkin is on his way to the SXSW Music Festival. The conscious rapper has been confirmed as a performer at the SXSW Music Festival 2023. SXSW, also known as South by Southwest, is the world’s biggest festival of its kind. The event, which takes place in Austin – Texas, brings together over 160,000 fans to a barrage of musical performances, conferences, film premieres, and several mini-events that characterize art. This year’s event comes between the 10th and 19th of March 2023; it will, as usual bring the What’s Next in Tech, Film, Music, and beyond to patrons of the event and the world.

Which Ghanaian artists have performed on the SXSW Music Festival stage?

In 2019, Africa was prioritized by the organizers of the SXSW Music Festival with an “Africa to the World” theme. The event featured a myriad of Africa’s finest musicians and many others. Representing Ghana was Jojo Abot, Stonebwoy, and Efya. In 2023, Dr. Pushkin is honored to represent Ghana on the show.

In a conversation with Dr. Pushkin, he indicated how excited he was about the opportunity. While commenting on it, he mentioned the crew he’s mounting the stage with. According to the “Lies” and “Wake Up” rapper, Ghana’s undisputed tongue-twist specialist, Budukusu, will join him on stage.

The two rappers have collaborated on three songs off Dr. Pushkin’s latest album. And since they’ve been hanging around a lot lately, they are working some magic as a team. Also on Dr. Pushkin’s crew for SXSW 2023 will be Aggie and AZA, featured on “Forgive them” and “No Regrets,” respectively, on the Outlandish album. Selecta Rah of Club Bantu fame will be the crew’s official Deejay as they mount the stage to thrill and awaken the audience.

Dr. Pushkin’s performance comes on the heals of Jojo Abbot, Efya, and Stoneboy who graced the event in 2019 as Ghanaians.

History of the SXSW Music Festival

SXSW started in 1987 with 177 artists and 15 stages. By 2019, the event had 1,964 showcasing artists (including musicians) and 94 Venues & Stages. Notable artists and personalities participating in SXSW are Former US President Barak Obama, Tonny Bennet, Black-eyed Peas, Cypress Hill, Jean Grae, Chamillionaire, Lady Gaga, and several high-profile personalities.

SXSW is an experience of live musical performances, conference sessions, film and television screenings, exhibitions, networking events, professional development opportunities, art installations, and many more. This year’s event takes place from March 10-19. However, the musical festival component is a six-day event, 13th – 18th.

Russian Scientist features Ofori Amponsah In a Rare Collaboration.

0

Ofori Amponsah has added his voice to Dr Pushkin’s Outlandish album, scheduled for release in the next week. Mr All 4 Real, who has been on a music hiatus, once again delivered his ever-captivating, infectious hooks on a song titled “you make me wonder.” Typical of Ofori Amponsah’s style, the song is a love tune, in this instance, enquiring about the lady’s loyalty. Performed by Dr Pushkin, Ofori Amponsah, and Jerry Kanjarga, an emerging artist from Tamale, “You Make me Wonder” is a representation of Highlife on the album.

Jerry Kanjarga

Getting collaboration with one of Ghana’s finest Highlife musicians definitely would be no mean feat. Thus, for Dr. Pushkin to score one with Ofori Amponsah, aka Mr. All 4 Real, fate and belief in the craft would be the major.

In the last year, Dr Pushkin has worked hard to piece together an album that resonates with the realities of life. The Texas-based Ghanaian Rapper has released music based on several perspectives. From eulogizing Harriet Tubman and highlighting great men like Dr Nkrumah and Nelson Mandela to hitting at the conscience of all with “Wake-Up” and “Lies,” one would expect a slowdown. However, following the hint of an album, “Outlandish,” scheduled for this year, the artist wasn’t ready to rest.

Aside from working with Teri Wiizi and Kwadwo Spiri in 2022, Dr Pushkin linked up with Budukusu, formerly Quata Budukusu, for a stellar love ballad, “Need You.” The song and the accompanying video received much attention and even cranked up the YouTube Accra charts. This collaboration was a major introduction to the general Ghanaian music audience.

Dr Pushkin’s Outlandish is scheduled to be in music stores on the 26th of January, 2023. Featuring several artists from Ghana and the USA, this is a good way to start the new year officially.

The work must have been arduous for a person who works as an entrepreneur, robotics engineer, author, and AI specialist.

Dr Pushkin is multi-racial with ties to Russia, Ghana, and America. However, the generous man loves to uphold his Ghanaianess everywhere he goes. In academic circles, he is Dr Paul Azunre.

DKB, OB, Lekzy & Co Crack Up Patrons at the Just Ended New Year Comedy Night.

0

It was a fantastic night full of unforgettable events. The venue was the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, and the atmosphere was magnificent. The New Year Comedy Night show was a major success and people who come in expecting to have a good time, had their expectations were met.

Lawyer Nti, the evening’s host, was fantastic; his ability to keep the audience engaged in between performers was exceptional. There was never a dull moment in the room because the energy he brought.

The night had fantastic music as well as comedic entertainment. Open Micers took center stage, and they each established themselves as talents to watch in the coming years. MJthecomedian, Parrot Mouth, Putogo, Lekzy DeComic, and OB Amponsah took turns amusing the audience by addressing political, religious, social, economic and personal topics.

The event’s headliner did not disappoint either. As the night’s final performance, DKB ascended the stage and put the icing on the cake. DKB examined each significant moment in the year as he looked back on the year 2022.

The night’s highlight was the honoring of Legends Augustine Abbey (Idikoko) and Ricky Kofi Kekeli Adelayitar. DKB honored them because he believes that it is better to present “flowers” to his heroes while they are still living than when they are dead and gone.

Overall, it was a fantastic night and a fantastic way to kick off the 2023 comedic event calendar.
