Isolirium Fan Store – isolirium

Going into the world cup, Ghana paraphernalia has been flying around, all in a bid to win interest in the Ghana Black Stars. However, it is worth knowing that the sense of being Ghanaian isn’t limited to periods like this. People in the diaspora who may not have other Ghanaians immediately around them continue to hold on to Ghana by acquiring beautiful items that symbolize the very soul of Ghana. From the Ghana Flag, and Art Pieces, to branded Shirts, Ghanaians always wanted to present themselves as Ghanaians.

With the dynamics of the music business constantly evolving, ingenious musicians continue to stand out by exploring all available means to expand their empires. Even though he already has a line of products from his music, Dr. Pushkin continues to prove his essence by doing more. With this magical Ghana-themed Limited Edition Authentic Sneaker, Dr. Pushkin is definitely in for the long haul of staying relevant, making incredible music, and making the most of the business.

Ghana went into the world cup as underdogs, and musicians sort to influence the public’s interest by releasing songs. KweKu Flick dropped “Blackstars” with Smallgod; King Promise dropped “Black Stars” with G.F.A.; Akwaboah released “Bring Back the Love,” and more recently, NaCee dropped “Ye De Ba.” Fortunately, despite the nonchalance, the “Ghanaian” in every Ghanaian showed on the day Ghana faced the highly Ranked Portugal. The results proved the spirit of Ghanaians doesn’t seem easy to bend.

Dr. Pushkin has always pursued what can influence thought and change; with this new venture, one can see a call to action, i.e., upholding the image of Ghana through art, music, and fashion.

This Limited Edition Ghana sneaker is sold exclusively on the Isolirium website. However, plans are advanced to place the sneaker in other stores for all who identify with Ghana.

ExGlo Foundation to the Rescue

0

ExGlo Foundation has once again stepped out into the regions in the spirit of giving and teaching how to fish. This time around, the beneficiaries were the Tamale Girls Senior High School in the Northern Region & Srafa D/A Basic School/community, in the Central Region. As an organization operating on the principle of meeting the real needs of people, the activities in these two regions were based on a needs assessment conducted earlier in the year.

How ExGlo Foundation Arrives at initiatives

ExGlo has previously been involved in paying school fees for students from deprived communities, donating school supplies such as tables and chairs for staff and students, health screenings and talks, career guidance, and equipment for processing raw materials such as shea nuts, among other things. The foundation continues to strive in diversifying its impact projects and supporting livelihood ventures.

The needs assessment found that young girls in Tamale had a high tendency to start their own businesses after high school when they are not able to continue their education. However, with little to no skill acquisition, this desire did not always materialize for people who lacked financial resources. ExGlo was there to fill that hole by teaching these girls for free.

The situation for the Srafa community was different yet precarious. In a farming community, girls unable to pursue higher education join their parents on the farms to support themselves and their families; and given that farming is a seasonal occupation, the women become idle when the season is over. With most women being housewives, skills acquisition could put them on the path equip to financial freedom.

ExGlo Foundation Gets on the Field

The ExGlo team visited these two regions on different dates; on the 12th of November 2022, students of Tamale Girls Senior High School received their skills training in Liquid Soap and Bead making.

The ExGlo team later travelled to the Central region on the 18th of November, 2022 to visit the Srafa Community. The visitation was in 2 phases. The first phase was the donation of some essential needs of their basic school to facilitate learning as well as the provision of materials to enhance good menstrual hygiene. Items donated to the school included markerboards, sanitary pads, towels, soaps, African print cloths (to cover themselves with it in the washroom when changing), dozens of panties and a cupboard where all these

menstrual hygiene items can be kept. ExGlo foundation also repaired the spoilt hand wash basin in the washrooms and fixed the markerboards as well.

The second phase involved the entire community, but primarily the women. They were taught how to make shampoo, liquid soap, and pastries, which was a huge success. The women were equipped with these skills to help them generate extra income to support themselves and their families.

This year’s Skills Development Training was sponsored by St John’s Hospital and Fertility Centre, Tantra Hill roundabout, as part of their corporate social responsibility, Best Western Premier, Accra Airport Hotel, and other benevolent people, ExGlo once again moved to impact lives. Special thanks to all who supported making sure these two programs were a success, especially Mr. Michael Sandow Ali (the chairman of the board), Mr Abeiku Aggrey Santana, Prof. Joshua Y. Abor, Prof. Mrs. Vera Fiador, and other family & friends.

There is More to come

Despite targeting the Central Region, Northern Region, Upper East Region, and Upper West Region for the Skills Development Training of 2022, ExGlo had to limit the number of locations to 2 due to financial constraints. However, the organization continues to seek support from the general public, other NGOs, and organizations to help execute this cause and reach out to more beneficiaries.

TRENDS RUNWAY Was a Success In 2022

0

About Trends Runway

The maiden edition of the Trends Runway show was held in Tamale at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in November 2021. The night brought some delight to the city of Tamale. Generally, the organizers were impressed with the number of audiences who turned out for the program and the patience they exercise and stayed till the show was over.

One of the Accra-based designers, expressed his joy and delightfulness at seeing the audience still glued to their seats as late as 12 midnight when people would begin to leave at about 9 pm in Accra when the show has not ended. The atmosphere and reception of the people of Tamale were a new experience for him and this overwhelming. According to him, this was an indication that they were really welcomed in Tamale with their fashion.

Trends Runway Revelations

The missing vibe in the organization’s structure was the conspicuous absence of women. In an interview with Abdul Raafi Mohammed on Sanatu Zambang Hotspot Live, the organizers bemoaned the difficulty of getting women involved in working with them but they hope to improve upon representation in the subsequent editions.

Trends Runway also revealed the difficulties in training the models. They had to run shifts for the trainees because most of them were not regular and kept missing days in training. This made their work very difficult.

Talking of the sponsorship, the organizers admitted that, they had a tough time getting people and organizations to sponsor the program.  They reiterated that most cooperate bodies would ask for sponsorship letters but when the letters are given out to them, they would decline to grant any sponsorship.

In organizing this fashion show, they noted that most of their sponsorships came from friends and family members, which was totally unacceptable and discouraging for the growth and success of the program.

One of the points that were also highlighted in the interview was the fact that designers are being limited by clients says Abdul Raafi. Fashion designers are not being challenged by clients to be creative and come out with their own designs. Clients come to seek services demanding replicas of dresses they see on the internet. But the panelist was of a different view. They said it was the duty of these fashion designers to educate their clients about the fashion business and the work they actually do.

Kinelman Releases Music Video featuring Dr. Pushkin

Kinelman Drops “Dough”

Kinelman is arguably one of the finest new entrants to the Ghana Music scene. Despite vigorously pursuing his desire to be a Medical Doctor, the young Kumasi-based musician is leaving no stone unturned as he advances his passion as a singer on the side.

Releasing his debut single “Dough” a few months back, one would have expected a chill; however, the enigmatic artist has released the video to the song, which features Isolirium’s lead artist Dr Pushkin

“Dough” is premised on gains for musicians and, to an extent, creatives. While Kinelman reiterates the need to stay focused on the talent and monetary reward from music in sweet melodic vocals, Dr Pushkin details the instances within the business that need change. In effect, the two musicians are making a case of “we’ve got to get paid, we’ve got to succeed” for the music we do.

It is safe to say Kinelman & Dr Pushkin, known in private life as Dr Paul Azunre, are joining the chorus of many. However, instead of ranting like a Shatta Wale, they found an entertainingly musical way to perform the message. On why he featured Dr Pushkin, Kinelman described Pushkin as a mentor, someone he always wanted to connect with. On one of those fully charged days, he sent a text to Dr Pushkin via Instagram. That message resulted in a discourse on several things and eventually a collaboration.

Check out the video “Dough” by Kinelman & Dr Pushkin below.

The Man Michael Tabi

Born Michael Tabi Elman at Asuoyeboah: Kumasi on December 25th, Kinelman gets his musical influence from a wide range of genres. Notably amongst them Afro-Beats, Hip Hop and Afro-Pop. Those mentioned above characterize his songwriting.

Michael Tabi Elman at Asuoyeboah AKA Kinelman

Music has always been a part of him as he grew up Asuoyeboah community; however, that has also never affected his love for academics. He is currently a student at KNUST School of Medicine and Dentistry. Dabbling in music and pursuing his academic desires haven’t been easy. Considering the costs involved in making a great artist, “Dough” is easily seen as a miracle.

At a very early stage, he learned to appreciate failure as a part of the process. However, it should always be confined to a setback position, not a bleak end. Thus, leaving music at that age didn’t seem a thing of forever. As he grew older, read more, and knew more, he appreciated the thoughts from his childhood. The process made him always keep an eye on the price, never give up, and innovate.

According to Kinelman;

“Naturally, I developed a passion for music myself, and as of now, I’m combining school and music. I enjoy doing music, and I know I will be pursuing music as a full-time career soon.

Combining school and music became a major hurdle in my early life. I performed well in class but always did averagely during exams. The situation led my teachers to confront my parents, which led to my music life’s collapse at the age of 11.”

Through hard work, he has successfully entered the university and now can balance music and studies.

Sighting artists and other colleague university students on stage during the Republic Hall week celebration at KNUST was a booster. Kinelman once again took to his pen, started writing new songs, and eventually conceived the idea of an EP. “Dough” is coincidently the first single off the yet-to-be-titled EP.

What is in the future for Kinelman?

The song produced by OneelBeatz since its release on April 28th, 2022, has become a major Kumerican anthem racing across charts worldwide. Even though he has songs with several producers, including CosCos, Z3na, Saint Madonna, and Sound Don, he’s readying an enviable tracklist for his EP, followed by an album.

On what makes him standout, Kinelman shared this;

“I am naturally curious and not slowed down by rejection. Although rejections sting, they don’t deter me. I believe in my voice and craft and will keep working until it’s heard everywhere.”

With “Dough”, Kinelman would soon be accorded the respect people like Knii Lante & Dr Pushkin enjoy.

Dr Pushkin and Teri Wiizi Caution Ghanaians with Lies

The numbers keep stacking up just ten days after Lies by Dr Pushkin and Teri Wiizi was premiered on YouTube. The video has garnered over 77k views and reached Accra’s Youtube Charts, starting with a single view. Such a stellar performance on the chart is incredible for conscious rap aficionados.

Lies By Dr Pushkin F. Teri Wiizi

Even though the time frame between the audio and video was a stretch, It was a worthy wait, for that matter.

Released to coincide with Ghana’s Republic Day, 1st July 2022, the music video simulates the turbulent nature of today’s leadership across Ghana and the world. When the turbulence is juxtaposed with the utterances of society’s leadership, the diagnoses point at lies. Dr Pushkin teamed up with Atigsi-Badek and Kwame Black, placing quality and creativity at the top. The result is the visually appealing content captured to compliment this fantastic song.

Lies By Dr Pushkin and Teri Wiizi is a song that seeks to wake ordinary citizens up from deceit. Despite the sultry delivery by Teri Wiizi, his verse and hooks gave that humid yet strong wording meant to spark a new thought pattern for all who love Ghana.

Lies By Dr Pushkin-and Teri Wiizi
Lies By Dr Pushkin-and Teri Wiizi

Because Ghana has moved from an economic doldrum to a fast descent into an abyss, Lies by Dr Pushkin and Teri Wiizi is timely.

Most Ghanaians have particular leanings that appear to cloud minds in a time of a discourse that could spell prosperity. From the Church to the corridors of power, deceit seems to have taken over. Lies By Dr Pushkin and Teri Wiizi therefore, caution people on what to look out for in pursuing a holistic discourse on the development of society.

Dr. Pushkin did not mince words as he detailed idealism’s intricate and systematic destruction through the song. Dr Pushkin calls on all to be vigilant by citing technology, experts, religious people, and partisan politics as the tools used to suppress the ordinary Ghanaian.

Best described as a truth-telling song, Lies by Dr Pushkin and Teri Wiizi is one of a kind in an era of glam. The visual content rehashed the truth-telling piece meant to spur a thought pattern of questions.

When the Ghanaian author, AI specialist, and rapper dropped the audio to Lies, one could only envisage the words in visuals. The song is an excellent piece for a person who remains burdened by the desire to fight the system with music. Dr Pushkin roped in one of the finest emerging singers from Ghana to give off an impressive vocal performance to compliment his ever-impressive rap bars.

Globally, music remains a frontier in the fight against injustice and bad governance and an avenue for enhancing the well-being of all. While its entertaining and economic component is more popular, activists have employed it as a voice. Lies By Dr Pushkin and Teri Wiizi is one such song that reveals what’s behind the words of many leaders.

It is about time we returned to prioritizing music that would go beyond entertainment to evoke thoughts.

Dr Pushkin recently dropped Alien with Kromanteng, a song that tackles the inequalities of society.
